It was a wonderful experience being exposed to the varitey of teaching techniques during this class. Furthermore, the fact that I was able to develop lessons that I can use during this school year was greatly appreciated.
The portion I found most exciting was the variety of games and simulations that are on the internet. I can't wait to use them. In addition, it was amazing to see all the possibilites in the lessons and findings of my colleagues in this class. That is an added bonus! It is my plan to share these lesson plans with my co-workers. I hope this will inspire and ease some of them into trying something new.
I am planning to continue to expand the use of my wiki. I would like to expand the users of the wiki to the parents of my students. I think having them be able to add input to some of the discussions would add to the richness. It would also be a way to keep parents in the loop about what their child is learning.
Project Based Learning seems to be a natural way to teach in the science classroom. However, it is still an abstract concept to me. I am hoping that PBL is something that will be further explored in other classes so that I can become more adept in this style of teaching.
